The Cyd Lash Memorial Scholarship was established to give financial aid to a graduating senior of Cyd Lash Academy in Libertyville, a high school for severely behavior disordered and emotionally disturbed adolescents. Applicants are high school seniors who wish to pursue an education beyond the secondary level at a junior college, university, or vocational school. Awards are based on behavioral readiness, academic background, and potential for success.

In 1997, one recipient of this scholarship attended the college of Lake County with plans to transfer to Barat College. Her goal is to become an elementary teacher. Another recipient attended Shimer College and is planning to major in social sciences and humanities.
