Horticultural Therapy Program

Originally developed by the Chicago Botanical Gardens, the Horticultural Therapy Program incorporates therapy into an activity. Children with severe physical and mental disabilities are involved in planting projects arranged in skill based groups. The program assists in developing life-long recreation and leisure skills as well as skills that can be branched out into community involvement and possible vocational employment.
