Board Committee Opportunities Volunteer Application
The SEDOL Foundation consists of various committees that are formed as needs arise (e.g., Finance Committee). Volunteer opportunities are limited to open member positions.

SEDOL Foundation Auxiliary Volunteer Application
The SEDOL Foundation Auxiliary coordinates volunteer opportunities and commitments to manage special events and other auxiliary functions. The Auxiliary works with volunteers to establish responsibilities, organize schedules, and oversee timely completion of tasks.

There are two classes of membership in the Auxiliary:

  • Lifetime Member: Awarded to all past presidents upon completion of at least two years in office.
  • Active Member: Participates in the Auxiliary Board and pays annual dues as determined by the Executive Board.

Members are eligible to hold any of the following positions or to form the SEDOL Foundation Auxiliary Executive Board:

President:

  • Represents the Auxiliary
  • Serves as chief officer
  • Presides at all meetings of The Auxiliary, The Auxiliary Board, and the Executive Committee, Board of Directors

First Vice-President:

  • Performs all duties of the President in his/her absence
  • Assists the President
  • Counsels and services all Auxiliary business

Second Vice-President (Marketing and Communications):

  • Handles community and public relations

Secretary:

  • Handles administrative and general correspondence
  • Notifies Auxiliary Board members of meetings

Treasurer

  • Serves as chief fiscal officer

Clerical and Administrative Opportunities Volunteer Application
Clerical and administrative opportunities are very flexible and usually can be scheduled at your convenience. They might be performed at the SEDOL Foundation office, other selected sites, or in your home.

Opportunities include:

  • Data entry
  • Mailings (e.g., envelope stuffing, labeling, assembly)
  • Phone calls
  • Letter writing
  • Filing
  • Computer (e.g., text formatting, creative opportunities)
  • Errands (e.g., deliveries, pick-ups)

Group Activities Volunteer Application
Group activities are those that you coordinate with your corporation, church, club, or other organization. These include:

  • Drives (e.g., clothes, toys)
  • Landscaping (e.g., spreading woodchips, planting)
  • School maintenance (e.g., painting, cleaning, seasonal clean-up)

Dinner/Dance Volunteer Application
Every year on the second Saturday in March, the SEDOL Foundation hosts a Dinner Dance. This event is not only an important fundraiser, but an opportunity to celebrate major milestones, hear from key corporate sponsors, honor special people, and enjoy music, dancing, good food and good company!

Volunteer opportunities occur during preparation for the event from October through March, and during the event itself. Time commitments vary from as little as one hour (e.g., to label brochures) to frequent meetings (e.g., to chair a committee).

Committees include:

  • Silent Auction Committee
  • Mailing/Raffle Ticket Committee
  • Decorations Committee
  • Hospitality/Reception Committee
  • Breakdown Committee
  • Ad Book Committee

Golf Outing Volunteer Application
On the second Monday of each September, the SEDOL Foundation hosts another important fundraiser: a premier golf outing event that includes contests, on-course refreshments, an evening buffet of cocktails, and other surprises.

Volunteer opportunities occur during preparation for the event, from June through September, and during the event itself. Time commitments vary from as little as one hour (e.g., to label brochures) to frequent meetings (e.g., to chair a committee).

Kids Kamp
Kids Kamp provides the funds for low-income families to send their special needs children to summer camp.
